Morristown and Princeton, NJ – Good Grief announced today that Theresa Shubeck will join the bereavement charity as its next Chief Executive Offer effective December 1, 2021.

The announcement follows a comprehensive search process initiated by the Good Grief board to select a successor to long-serving CEO Joe Primo. Earlier this year, Primo announced his decision to leave Good Grief ... more f after 14 years to relocate to North Carolina where his husband has started a new job.

Shubeck joins Good Grief with a wealth of experience helping nonprofit organizations advance their missions, develop, and execute strategies, raise critical funds, and train leaders.



Shubeck has spent 25 years with philanthropic consulting firm Ruotolo Associates most recently as Executive Vice President responsible for firm-wide client services. In this role, she has advised and worked closely with a diverse group of social service, education, healthcare, faith-based and arts organizations. Earlier, Shubeck served in development and alumni relations roles with Drew University for more than a decade and subsequently led development for a private school in New York City.
