DENVILLE, NJ - Denville residents are being urged to nominate people for the Denville Schools Persons of the Year program.
This will be the sixth installment of the program which is conducted by the school district in cooperation with the Foundation of Denville and combined Parent Teacher Associations.
"We will honor three people who have made a positive impact on Denville PK-8 students," said the district. "In these extraordinary, times there are many stories of community members stepping up to help their neighbors. This year the award will feature a plaque and $200 worth of gift certificates to local businesses."
The three categories for which nominees are sought are
· PK-8 Student of the Year: sponsored by the Lakeview, Riverview and Valleyview PTA’s
· Staff Member of the Year: sponsored by the Foundation of Denville
· Community Member of the Year: sponsored by the Lakeview, Riverview and Valleyview PTA’s
Those interested in suggesting people for the awards can do so by filling out a short form. The only criteria is that the person must have made a positive contribution or impact on PK-8 Denville students.
The survey expires on April 30. Awards will be announced at a Denville Board of Education meeting later in the year.
