As of this morning, various construction projects are underway across multiple major roads in Morris County, affecting daily commutes and travel plans. The construction activities involve temporary lane and shoulder closures, although most roads remain open to traffic.

On NJ 24, construction is reported in both directions from just east of Exit 1 at CR 511/Whippany Rd in Morris Township to just west of I-78 in Springfield Township. This stretch remains fully open, with all lanes available to traffic until 3:00 PM today.

Similarly, NJ 23 sees construction in both directions, extending north of Alexander Avenue in Pequannock Township to north of Maple Lake Road in Kinnelon. Here, the right shoulder is closed until 3:00 PM.

NJ 15 witnesses intermittent closures of two lanes in both directions near CR 699/Berkshire Valley Road in Rockaway Township, with these restrictions lifting at 2:00 PM. Also affecting NJ 15, the southbound exit ramp at NJ 181/Espanong Rd/Weldon Rd in Jefferson Township is completely closed with detours in place until just before midnight.

For those traveling on NJ 53, construction spans from south of NJ 10 in Morris Plains to I-80 in Denville Township. All lanes on this route will remain accessible until 3:00 PM.

US 46 is another key area of focus with multiple sections under construction. From just east of CR 637/Beverwyck Road to just east of I-80 in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township, the left lane is closed until 3:00 PM. Additional closures on US 46 include the right lane and shoulder from I-80 in Denville Township to I-287 in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township, ending at 3:00 PM, and another right lane closure westbound just east of I-287 in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township, which will last until 6:00 AM tomorrow.

Motorists are advised to plan for extra travel time or seek alternative routes if possible to avoid delays.
