BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Senior Christian Magliacano has earned the title of Valairco Heating and Cooling Highlander Athlete of the Week for his standout performance on the lacrosse field.

Despite being new to high school lacrosse, Magliacano, who transferred from St. Thomas Aquinas High School and is committed to playing Division 1 football at Colgate University, has demonstrated remarkable talent and a strong lacrosse IQ, especially in his positioning and stick skills.

Magliacano's ability to score goals is undeniable, making it difficult for opponents to stop him from finding the net. In just six games, he has scored an impressive 15 goals and provided 3 assists. Additionally, his defensive skills are equally impressive, as he has captured an outstanding 29 ground balls so far.

One of the highlights of Magliacano's season was his stellar performance in an exciting 9-8 overtime victory against Morristown Beard, where he scored six goals and provided one assist to lead his team to victory.

"Christian's just been in the zone on the field. He and his teammates are really hitting their stride and playing with a lot of energy. It's been exciting to watch him dominate the game and contribute to our success," said Gov. Livingston head coach Michael Provenzano. "Christian always brings his best to the field. He's like a secret weapon for us [not so secret now], always ready to make big plays when we need them. We're lucky to have him on our team."

Christian took the time to answer the following questions from TAPinto: 

TAPinto: How does it feel to be back out there competing with your hometown teammates again? 

Christian: The feeling of playing with my hometown teammates is one of the best feelings,  finally having the opportunity to go to battle with my childhood friends one last time.

TAPinto: How difficult was it to come back to the sport of lacrosse after not playing since eighth grade?

Christian: Coming back to lacrosse for the first time since eighth grade was a lot easier than I expected due to the great coaches and teammates I have.

TAPinto: What is your favorite memory in your athletic career?

Christian: My favorite memory of my athletic career is probably playing PAL basketball on Saturday mornings because nothing really mattered, and it was all about having a good time.

TAPinto: Who is your biggest role model when it comes to your athletic career?

Christian: My biggest role model when it comes to lacrosse is probably someone like Chris Hogan, a football and lacrosse dual athlete that competes at the top of both sports.

TAPinto: Are there specific teammates or coaches who have had a significant impact on your development as a player?

Christian: Every single coach on our staff has had an impact on my development as a player.  Also, another significant teammate who has impacted my development as a player is a great Captain and Teammate in Brett Peer. Brett is a leader who knows the game from top to bottom and has the skill set to do it all and leads by example.
