SPARTA, NJ - The Morristown baseball team fell to Sparta 5-3 on Thursday afternoon. Morristown scored two runs in the third to lead the Spartans by one. Sparta answered and plated a run in the fifth to tie it up.
The Spartans added three runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead. Morristown was unable to answer and with the loss fell to 1-8 on the season.
Sean Newman, Oliver Acuna-Casey and Ryan Lavin all scored for Morristown. Patrick Ruiz was on the mound for Morristown. He pitched five innings allowing five runs on six hits while striking out three. Dom Correale threw one inning of work.
The Colonials will be back in action on Saturday April 20 against Morris Hills. Game time is 11am.
